i was reading an article on the sr20de in the new sentra, and the article said most of the power was gained by changing the ecu. so, my question is could i purchase a ecu out of a totalled sentra se (or something) and put it in my sentra se-r? i mean, it's the same engine and all...

i don't know much about ecu's, if that isn't evident already.

No what they are saying is it is gaind from an aftermarket ECU. A JWT ECU mainly. Its not a direct bolt in but with a little fiddling it can be done. Maybe after a few more people have put them in we will know more. You couldnt put the one from your 91 in there because of all the emmisons stuff, cam profile differences, head differences, red line. Stuff like that. There hasnt been much research into the B15's yet on the ECUs and how they effect them. But with some more time people will play with them.

You cant interchange a classic ECU, with a 95+ ECU, for one simple reason. Its mapped totally different. The classics are OBD I compliant cars and 95+ are OBD II. You cant even, send it to JWT to get reprogrammed.
