has any welded an external wastegate flange onto their stock gti-r manifold? If so I would like to get this done. PM me and let me know how much you charge. have you guys had any issues with it cracking afterwards? I may go to a gt3071r turbo and need some way to keep all my intercooler pipes the way it is and also retain my AC, stock radiator and fans, and condensor.

I wouldn't trust anyone other than Andris to weld it. The manifold needs to be preheated, welded quickly, then set in sand for a day to cool slowly enough to ensure your wastegate doesn't fall off in a year.

I just sent him an email thanks for the info. Now to decide between gt2871r .64 a/r or the gt3071r .64 a/r since they will both get me at or beyond 400whp with the ext. wastegate.

Andris Laivins has done a few. Ray Kawski has been running one on his track car for years, and it's held up to thousands of track miles. I had one in my possession for a while and it was beautiful. Andris has his own shop in Texas now.

Here's a thread which describes it.

And some pics of the one I had.
