Trolling for answers here. Noticed a boost sensor on the firewall(top, just right of center) of my 98 Sentra SE this weekend. It is almost identical to my friend's boost sensor on his 87 300ZX Turbo motor(that is going into his 240SX - another story). It appears to read from the intake manifold and then send its signal to the ECU? What purpose does this serve?

I don't know. Manifold vacuum maybe? What does the FSM say?

Its a map sensor. From what I can tell its used in conjunction with the emsions crap. Hmmm.. I wonder if I can hook it up to the DET and tap into it for an electronic boost gage?
