I have the S3's and they're great. In retrospect however I kinda wish I got the S4's. I got a good deal on mine so I'm happy. Either set you get you will have a lopey idle though. From what I have read however the JWT ECU corrects some of it.

I went back and looked through the SCC atricle with the cam dynos.
The S4 cams only lose a couple HP vs the in the 2500-3500rpm range, but give more 6800+rpm horsepower (~4-5hp). Other than a (supposedly slightly) lopier idle, I dont see any reason to not buy the S4 cams.

Now for extreme power we could talk about the C series cams...

Well I keep Reading the SCC jun issue about the cams, and the S4s make more power toward the top, but I wrote to Mike Kojima once and he told me to go with the S3s, so now I'm just wonder why??

All I wanna do is RACE!!! this coming season....

If you want to drag, go for it.
The S4 will give the most power, but with out ECU they will be rough. JWT has no ECU
for us with the 98 and newer engines.
As for auto crossing, go with the 91 SE-R
cam set. The JWT will put you out of stock class. You will have to race heavy mod cars and will not have a chance. You should contact SCCA and get the rule book before you go inside the motor. If you want to auto cross your money is better spent on handling parts and a good set of Kumho V700 tires. If you get real good upgrade to Hoosier tires, they have better grip but are very unforgiving if you made a mistake.

i guess that depends if you want to autocross for points and compete in one class or if you just want to autocross for fun (like I do). I dont care about points or what classes other cars are in. I just compare my times to what the other cars are running.

Tires are pretty damn important in autocrossing.

My Car is a 91, I just want to autocross for fun, I guess i gotta checkout the SCCA Rule book, I haven't done an Auto X since 1994, I agree Tires are #1, thats why I use to run A008s back in the day, now i got AVS inter.. for the street..

P.S., LUIS, the car should be ready by mach for Sears, and tire rack has Kosei K1s (for the slicks) for $140... Have fun at Larrys

Sounds good man! March eh.. Well you should still come up to Sac in Feb to help me out and help Larry conquer his fear
You guys might want to look into Miata Wheels.. those are pretty close to our specs. Or you can get some cheap ass wheels.. no need to waste some Pretty K-1's. I bet Larry would roll on those sunflower wheels heheh.
