I just finished up booking my room for the carlisle custom compact nationals. As many of you already know the show has been moved to some farm show complex in harrisburg due to the debauchery that occured at last years show. as im not really into show cars it is just nice to get out of the state for awhile. this will be my third year attending and its usually a worthwhile drive. Im just curious who is thinking about or planning on going. I will be at the days inn in harrisburg which is about 2.5 miles from the complex.

Wow, I thought it was cancelled all together. Good to hear that it's still on.

I was at least years show, it was insane, breasts, beer and drunken kids everywhere. I never saw anything like it.

I'll be there, I live about 90 minutes from Harrisburg.

BTW, where did you rent your room at? I forget how close the Farm Show Complex is to the original Carlisle area.

I just looked up hotel info and I can't find where they are, because I don't know where in Harrisburg the Farm show complex is.

i dont like the idea of being inside this year,, i loved it last year and havent had a problem... but theres a lot about carlisle this year that gets me pissed off

Yeah I think I'm gonna skip this year and see what others have to say about it...I hear it's probably not gonna be as good...

I live near harrisburg and will be attending with Fuzion Marketing I dont believe the entire show will be inside. They should have an autocross, dyno comp outside at least the last thing we need is for people to stop coming if that happens we all loose I think this year could easily be way better than before and traffic wont be horrible

You will want to search for hotels in Harrisburg not carlilse the farm show complex is in harrisburg

I don't think the Custom Compact show is going to be worth the trip this year due to the change in venue.

We are thinking of going to the Import show the w/e after in Carlisle instead. The cars at that show are a lot more interesting to see and its always a fun time at the fairgrounds.

I'm interested in rolling, Gotta search for more info when I get home, When is this? If my wheels come in on time I'll deffinately be competing. I don't know about staying the whole weekend, But I'm down to chill for 1 day...

Any idea how close these hotels are to the Farm show complex? I don't know the area too well.

comfort inn harrisburg east - 8 min - 3.7mi
baymont inn - 10 min - 6.5mi
comfort inn riverfront - 6 min - 2.8 mi
crowne plaza - 5 min - 2.3 mi
days inn - 5 min - 2.6 mi
fairfield inn - 8 min - 5.9 mi
sheraton - 9 min - 6.3 mi
hilton - 5 min - 2.3 mi

Here's a pic from last years Carlisle that I took, you can sort of see why it got cancelled, just too much madness. If you look REALLY hard you can see a girl flashing her chest and a ton of people looking in her direction.

It got canceled because certain people wanted it to get canceled. There was a reason all the madness went on without being stopped. The powers that be needed the ammunition to force the Compact show to seriously change end altogether. I've been going to the show since 95 and it has gotten worse every year. It was totally obvious to us that there was something up when they didn't stop the burnouts going on on the "field" roads. They were doing it for over an hour and cars were smoking their tires at 30mph dragging the ass end and coming within feet of the parked cars and people. I moved my car right after the first idiot came within 2 feet almost sideways.

I would much rather see the Import show anyways instead of the bespoilered, too low, candy-ass neon, 1000 lbs of stereo equipment show cars that the compact show features.
