Ok, I'm ignorant: Why would anyone want to do this? Please answer in the form of an essay comparing and contrasting all aspects of this modification including advantages/disadvantages.

I'll give you an outline. You'll have to make your own damn essay.

Stock MAF
-flows *and measures* enough air to support around 220whp. I dont know the exact number.
-is tuned to your stock ECU

Cobra MAF
-flows *and measures* more than enough air.
-the voltage-to-mass-air-flow is known by JWT so they can program your ecu for use with a cobra MAF
-it should have a bigger hole (not the sensor part) to be able to do the above. Somebody else let us know for sure, please.

At 150hp+ na all you will get is better throttle responce.

Look how big this f'n thing is on the inside(almost 3"id!) It definatly flows better. The stock maf is about 1.5"id at the most. I'm going to take some pictures of it soon and put them side by side.
