I've discovered a design flaw in the Courtesy Short Shifter.

It's a two piece shifter, the ball is welded to the shaft(no cock jokes please). On mine, after a buncha hard drag racing shifts, i've cracked that weld. And now i have a few mm of dead play. It doesn't really affect drivability because the shifter still stays in place, but it's still annoying to see the shift knob bobbling around at idle.

So now i would like to say that i DON'T reccomend the Courtesy Short Shifter. I obviously got what i paid for(80 bux).

now i'm looking for a SS that's a one piece. Price doesn't really matter as long as i'm not able to break it. If you think it's just cuz i'm a big ass guy and i'm too buff.. think again.. i'm just a lil 145lb filipino guy.. so if I could break it.. anyone could...

what are my other alternatives.. i know there's the ultra expensive C's shifter, the crappy stillen shifter that i'm not even considering... and then the new B&M shifter...

what's the ball on the smc shifter made out of? plastic?

White delrn(sp?) It is a nice piece for the money. That along with a ES shifter bushing make for an awesome shifter feel. The shifter is hollow SS I think so its light but I havent had any problems with it bending or braking. I know *alot* of people on the list have one and have no complaints.

The B+M is also a real nice piece. Its not adjustable but if has a kick ass feel to it and its solid metal. They are around $150 but I'd rather have the PS for the fact its adjustable.

p.s. Summit Racing also has free shipping

I had that P.O.S. courtesy shifter and it broke only a month after i had it. I was just putting it into reverse and it snapped. I was pissed. I took it back and got my money back.

well, laugh at this or not, but i am considering getting a pacesetter catback, and using my muffler. its 2.25" mandrel bent, and i dont even think you can get that done at any muffler shop for the price a pacesetter catback costs.
