How are emissions regulated on this engine. Will it pass a 50 state check or does US emission have to be adapted to it.

Well, I know that it doesn't come with an EGR system. I talked to someone up here who installed one, and just hacked a homemade EGR into it.

You could probably pass emission without EGR though. Unless it's a visual, the testing is a joke.

I know a guy who blew his rings from cranking up the boost too far on his SR20DE, and he passed emissions anyway by retarding the timing to 5 (instead of 15-17). If you really want to pass, you'll find a way to do it.

Emmisions... he he he. No evap no EGR no pass visuial! It will however so I'm told pass the sniffer test.

But remember that the test varies from place to place. Here in Toronto, there's testing, but no visual.

I'm in PA i know we have a sniffer, its expensive, but i'm not sure about the visual.

Here in Vancouver, we have both, but for the visual, they look under the hood, pretend to look around a bit and then say "ok, good!". I took my '84 Mustang in there with all the underhood emissions disconnected with plugged hoses everywhere and passed.
