EGR Solenoid?

1554 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  paradyme
The solenoid that is bolted to that Y-Bracket on the back of the intake manifold has broken on my car. It has three vacuum hoses on it and the plastic nipple broke so I have a boost leak there.

I'm looking for one of these if anyone has one. I was hoping maybe someone who removed their emissions or at least the the EGR on their car might have one laying around I could buy from them.

These were only on 95-97 B14's SE-R's.

Thanks
Thomas

I have one brand new in the box. I purchased it some time ago back when I replaced my entire EGR system. My cars ecu light would not turn off. The one I have was actually for a different year SR20DE (wrong part for my car) part#14956-38U10. I got the right part for my car (part#14956-58C10) and forgot I even had this one. So check which version your car needs and let me know. I could send you pic by email if you like. ;)
If you need one I have an EGR kit at home that I took off my 96 se-r, PM me if you still need it.

What do you want for it shipped to 04102? Portland, Maine All I want is just the sensor with the 3 vacuum inputs.
It's already spoken for, but if something comes up, I'll PM you.

Good Luck, I had to replace everything core EGR ie, EGR valve, BPT valve, and Solenoid valve. This was after a local NISSAN dealership got me for $60.00 just to tell me that my cel was EGR related and he would have to figure out just what EGR part was failing at a undetermined cost. Let's just say I would have been paying for all related exploration and discovery not including the cost of parts, So I bought the parts and did it myself. It cost me around $160.00 in parts. ;)
dude, I wish I was down where you are cuz over here in Jersey, the dealer wants $80 just to diagnose it and when I told him I've all ready gotten the code, I just needed the tube changed, they gave me lamn story that they couldn't guarantee the fix. Also they wanted $59 for the BPT that they don't stock. But it's nice to hear you got it all for $160, so can u give me some advise on how to locate the bpt and the pipe that needs to be cleaned or changed? Thanks =)

Well, total cost mentioned were for NISSAN/INFINITI parts used. I also had trouble getting the right solenoid valve which lead to me purchasing the one I sold here at the forum. The hoses I replaced myself with hose purchased from PEP BOYS. I just removed the hoses on the car and matched them to the hose they sold. I'm from Jersey too, I know what you mean. If you can, always buy your parts yourself, Do the work or labor yourself, If not find a worthy mechanic or auto repair shop. ;)
