i dont know what to do. mabe head gasket? just bought the damn thing.

don't think it's a headgasket that's usually when two cylinder right next to each other have bad comp#s

Yep, headgasket is two low numbers right next to each other. Best thing to do now is to leakdown it, and find out whats wrong for sure.

sounds like possible valves or guides ....just a thought....call Soko and get a JDM ....we all been there so we know what your feeling...

before you throw away your engine--make sure that the compression tester was seated all the way down, and that the o-ring wasn't squeezed out--it can allow enough leakage to throw some numbers like that. Usually two oddball cylinders don't just start wearing for no reason, and I've never heard of an sr20 with bad valve guides...that's just me though.
