Why do folks rub out their license plate numbers a lot when they post them on the net? What's the big deal anyways?

I didn't do that on mine. I really don't give a damn! But the reason that most people do it, is for security reasons. They don't want Jeffry Dhamer or Ted Bundy showing up at their doorstep.
