Serban;

I have an answer for your ticket troubles. Sssshhhhhh! Don't tell anyone.

Ready?

Here it is:

Go to a drag strip.

Really.

You can run your heart out, and do it safely.

And, no tickets.

By the way....got my 3ARacing muffler welded on today...like the sound A LOT. Much quieter than the Borla, and much deeper tone. Very nice. Good call.

heh, i did one of those runs yesterday. i only intended to get a sound recording. i found a long, wide, flat, and empty stretch of road that eventually merged on the freeway. this was the first time ever that i launched my car hard so i followed the consensus and did a 3500rpm launch and ended up spinning the tires (they were at ~40 psi)

anyways shortly into the run i got distracted by some headlights in the distant in my mirror (thought it was cop).... i lost all attention and ended up going through the gears at 3/4th throttle.

when i reviewed the tape it showed that i hit 0-60 in 10 seconds (poop!) and the quarter-mile in ~20.25 (when i hit 88mph)

and to top it off, when i transfered the sound to my computer it sounded horrible.

Yes, the drag strip is the solution, BUT, I get so much wheelhop, that my times are way off. It hurt me so bad, last time I went, I couldnt get anything below a 16.0, I was even getting wheelhop in second gear...sheesh. With the G-tech, I had my time as low as 15.3.

Happy to hear you like the muffler. It looks nice, sounds nice, and is definately worth the money.

WHEEL HOP SUCKS! ME AND YOU HAD THAT SAME PROBLEM THAT DAY SE-RBAN. G-TECH RUNS ARE GOOD ENOUGH UNTIL WE GET OUR MOTOR MOUNTS.

Just make sure you find a place where cops dont decide to roll by for no reason when I'm trying to do a run...ok??
And I wish my damn mounts would get here already...I'm getting pissed!

Serban;
I can help you with your wheel hop problems. My car has the original (yes, original) motor mounts in it, and has pulled off a 1.98 second 60-ft time at the strip. The Nitto drag radials help a bunch in the wheel hop department.
Low air pressure will help, too. We run the drag radials at 15 psi or so. I've had wheel hop on a few runs as well, but it has been minor. And, it's launched at 5,500 rpm.
You can dial out some wheel hop via feathering the clutch a bit.
Sorry to not post as much as usual...on vacation in SC this week.

Thanks Greg, slicks are definately a solution, but to me not the best, I dont take my car to the track every week, and to spend near $300 for two tires I will barely use just doesnt make sense, I am still waiting on some ES mount inserts, hopefully they will help a little. Thanks for the input though.
