This is a legitamite question. I am sure with a little research someone may find a strut with an almost similar perch and knuckle set up and a shorter body that could work with minor modifications.
because if you could find a shorter strut that would work you could lower the car without screwing up suspension travel. I believe that is the benefit anyway.
Well technically, like Tekkie pointed out, if you have the money, anything will work haha
