GA16 turbo update

I have always kinda kept you guys aware of the status of my GA turbo project and I figured I'd share the latest.

Last time we were maxing out the 240SX MAF that the GA guys use as an upgrade so we had to change things around a bit. We wound up replacing and upgrading a bunch of stuff so here's the new laundry list.

GT28RS turbo
HS manifold
Forge FMIC
JGY Rail
MSD 50 lb injectors
Cobra MAF
Walboro 255 FP
custom IC piping
Greddy Type S BOV
Miko 3" exhaust (stock cat)
JWT ECU
JWT Turbo Cams

This is a first for the GA guys as no one has previously used this combo, JWT did the ECU sight unseen as my car is over 200 MILES away. Needless to say they got it damn near perfect straight away.

Car made 252 WHP 219 WTQ at 14 PSI. We are still tweaking and expect more power as we shake things down.

Here's a link to the NPM article that covers our progres! It also shows the kick ass welding that O2 Induction on our GT28RS and the install of the KOYO and pusher fans.

Very nice numbers out of that little motor! I wonder how it does with no cat? Prolly a lot better. It is really refreshing to see what you can get out of that GA16 motor, unfortunately, it is costly to do so! All the head work to get flow adds up. Great job!

Brent
Nice work man, Brent is right, get that cat out and you will make a lot more power. Best of luck!
good job Wes,
good to see the GA16 bar raised a little higher... I hope to have my new intake and higher boost running this summer. I will post my dyno results when I get it sorted. I have a hell of a target to shoot for.

Glad to see your still around Dave. We are working on a new IM for our project as well that will use a bored SE-R TB and a remotely located IACV as it is built in to the TB on the B14 cars.

Thanks for the kind words guys, been a lot of work thus far but it has been worth it!
Hmm something about that inlet pipe looks familiar. ;)

Some jackass gave me the idea! :biggthump
the little GA16 that could ;) good stuff Wes-man!
i myself have a 92se with the 1.6l i considered buying the kit but for the same price i can convert to the 2.0 blue bird with an extra 30hp would be nice if the kit was cheaper
^ dont really see what this post has to do with the thread but a stock bluebird isnt giving you 30 more hp than what that guy has with his ga.
^^^^^^the kit on the 1.6 would give you roughly 175hp by itself
the sr20det is rated at 205hp by itself

the cost of the ga16de turbo kit isnt worth it because you can convert your 1.6l to the 2.0 turbo engine for roughly the same cost

since hes promoting the item i wanted to mention this so maybe he can work on the price but if the kit will cost this much us ga16de people will more than likely just convert

thats how it relates to the thread

I disagree the kit itself on an otherwise stock motor recently made 212 WHP and 208 WTQ on a GA16. HS switched to the GT28RS turbo and those dyno charts are old. Do what you want but 175WHP is inaccurate based on the kit they are now selling.
Nice numbers, Wes. :)

Oh, and San Diego (JWT) is more than 200 miles away from Wisconsin. Or whatever that place is you're from. :D
well if you can get 212 whp on a ga16de with just the turbo kit the price is more realistic (its a lot easier bolting a turbo kit on than converting to the sr20) and i may reconsider my plans for my ga16de

Well it says more than;) Yeah I meant to say 2000 miles away.

And yes with supporting mods you can make 212 WHP on your GA16.
what mods would have to compliment the kit for the 212whp range

I think you can make more than 212 WHP with a GA16 with supporting mods :) ...it was the fuel pump that was holding me back.
We'll see I guess.

3" exhaust and 240SX MAF. JWT will program the ECU for the MAF at the time you order (no additional cost). CLutch is a good idea as the stocker will NOT hold up, just like the DE clutch will not hold up too boost very long.

Hey TOOL, i dont know if you noticed but this is the SR20FORUM, not the gay16forum. Why dont you take your post over to NissanForums, with all the other ricers and their little 1.6 weedwacker motors.
