I was digging thru my old magazine box and ran across Project SE-R "Chasing the Type R" SCC Nov. 1998 issue.
Their SE-R dynoed at 165hp and 150 tq w/ all bolt-ons.
The stock Type R dynoed at 161hp and 116 tq. ( ha ha )

This was the very same issue that made me switch camps.
If I can go as fast as a Type R with just bolt ons..........woohooo!
I just cant figure out if they went with the "Cams" or not.

If you consider the C-series cams and springs a bolt-on, then yes they have
I guesstimate that I am making 160whp or better, now that I have most of the cars issues sorted out. Unfortunatly I won't have it on a dyno until spring. :( The car does pull like crazy above 6k though.

I saw a race prepped NX2000 at the dyno (one of the crew from it is on this board - it's the Bob Armstrong car), and with C cams and headwork, it dynoed over 180 at the wheels, 140 torque.

And it just SCREAMED. Scary loud (open exhaust).

300zx pistons, if I remember correctly.

Really, not *that* much done to the car. Regular boltons, and those awesome cams.

Thing idled like God was shaking a dumpster full of rocks :D

I thought that was also through the stock exhaust and with a hotshot gen 2 header on.
