if that link doesn't work geocities is going to get a kick in the butt from me.
chris, bolt on's suck. they cost twice as much as they cost to have a local shop do the work for you. if you go mandrel bend, get 2.25 inch piping. if you go crush bend, get 2.5 inch piping (equivilliant of 2.25 inch mandrel bent). as far as power goes, i really didn't notice it. but i really didn't go around going all out when i got it, so i'm used to it now. they say you get like 5-9 horsepower out of it, so it'd be in that area somewhere.
as far as packing goes, it's like any other straight through muffler made for imports. it has fiberglass packing inside of it. i don't know how much it actually quiets it, but it's loud enough to be heard (just how i like it
).
as far as gas mileage goes, i've gotten 200 miles out of a tank since i bought the car, with the muffler and k&n drop in air-filter it hasn't changed any, so it really goes unchanged on my car.
AHH! now i know why the sound won't work! when i post it that way for some reason, forums don't like it.
http://www.geocities.com/monsoonsite/myser_sounds.html
just click the only download option there is available there, it's labeled something like my car's sound. it's noticable. that's the only way geocities and forums work for some reason, really dumb if you ask me, but ohh well.
ohh, and about the bolt-on's. the sentra se-r's stock exhaust system was not overly restrictive, so just tell them to go the stock way using the stock mounts, it was like 50-70 bucks for piping for me and i got a high quality job. the only mod they had to do was they had to put a 2.25 inch to 2.5 inch adapter for the muffler because the muffler's inlet is 2.5 inches.
btw, why is it so good to go 2.25? simple, by going 2.25 you gain the maximum power, but you also gain torque. going any bigger you really loose torque, but gain high-end power. it really depends.
