I am soooooo mad.
I was just under my car before picking up something I dropped that rolled underneath and I took a look at my Hotshot header flex pipe. THE BITCH IS COVERED IN RUST!
I've only had it on the car since November. Godamn. Anyone know of any warranties or anything on those? I bought it brand new from JWT last fall. Unreal. This East coast winter has been a hard one.

You shoulda waited all winter like I did with my greddy.
If it makes you feel better I'd get the header too if I had it to do over . Your header's probably not done for as long as its not made out of the same aluminized garbage as my greddy.

Wow ouch that's a piss off that its rusting already, hope you work some thing out.

I found a stainless steel flex pipe on a ship that was being patched up for sea and sent off to be scraped in china that I was working on in the fall... anyway this flex pipe will fit on my NX when I build a new pipe it was such a find. its got to be worth at least $300

YO: you'd be surprised at what we ship off and sell to china. I don't mean just military secrets. Did you know that NYC's largest export is garbage? Yeah the Chinese use all the parer, and cardboard to recycle and make into boxes and stuff! Who knows what else? It simply boggles my mind.

I've got the same problem. My entire secondary from the Flex-pipe back is rusted, and the rest is also rusting a bit as well. Granted, I've had the header for over a year, but the rust started to form only a few months after I had the header installed (October of 1999, I think.)

I may just use high-temp paint to cover it up (have to sand off the rust first... hmmm, I'm too lazy to do that); however I've heard (from the National Mailing List a while back) that you can send the header back to HotShot and get it re-coated.

Pit, I'm assuming that sending the header to Hotshot to be re-coated is NOT free?
We can hope can't we?

Well, I did a bit of research using the archives, but you're going to have to do the rest, because I'm lazy and it's past my bedtime already, hehe:

So, if your header is JetHot coated, the coating supposedly has a lifetime warranty. Now, all you have to do is figure out whether or not your header is JetHot coated...

You know what kind of trouble it is to send the flexpipe back to Jet Hot?
I had my Stillen Header Jet Hot Coated. If you guys think that Jet Hot coatings really last forever come look at my Flex Pipe! What coating!? My coating is starting to bubble where the pipes are real close. So I will tell you no coating last forever. None.
Anyone have a daily driven car with cad plated rotors and look at them lately? I bet those are rusted and or dull.

I had the same problem. It turned into an exhaust leak and I had to have it cut off and another put on. If anyone wants to call up hotshot or find out something at the same time, we might be able to get something back from them. At least I hope, because if this problem is happening often enough, we can maybe do something about it. My header near the block and the primary and secondary piping is rusting. I didnt think hotshot headers were supposed to do that. It is a 3rd gen. .
There are my .02 on this subject.
