I am having some weird problems with my heater(HVAC in general)

1.my heat only seems to blow "warm" it keep's me warm but seems like it should be a little hotter
2.No matter what vents are selected air always comes out of the main vents but only if the fan is on, however hot air only comes out of the selected vent's
ex.floor vents selected, fan speed 1. Hot air comes out of floor vents, cold air also comes out of main vents but only when the fan is on
3.Fan speed 4 does not work

Combination of a few problems.

Fan speed not working is a resistor problem which is under the p/s dash

Your selector,Floor,Vent,defrost,mix is more than likely caused by the cable loop
coming off under the dash. take a flashlight and go under the d/s dash and look to the top right of the gas pedal. move the selector on your dash as you look for something moving under the dash, make sense. You will see a cable moving
but not attached,more than likely.

Also your fresh air selector may have be froze up like my car. I removed the plastic panel at the bottom of the windshield. look at the p/s under where the plastic trim goes and you will find a flap. that opens when you select fresh air and closes when you select recirculation. Your cable might be froze up like mine.
IF the flap stays open all the time it is letting cool air in and your heater can not completly warm the air before it comes out of the vents.

I looked on SE-R.net found the resistor write up but it said thats for if fan speed's 1,2 and 3 don't work, 1,2,and 3 work in my car just not 4, but i suppose it could be that problem anyway

I will have to check the cable loop, sounds like it could be the problem

i know the fresh air selector has to work b/c I can feel the weight of it when selecting closed and with nothing on air flows into the car with the vent closed, but does not flow into the car with the vent closed


but thank you for the help, tomorrow when I try to install my new tensoniner I will check the cable's

Incase of so many problems, you should either contact the technical support team or you yourself take precautions for not damaging these.

Whenever you leave your place, make sure heater is turned off. By keeping the heater on, you may loose its efficiency.
Make sure heater is not overheated. If this continues for a longer period, then power cord may blast.
