Horsepower loss...!?

Hi all,

I recently threw a rod and crushed a piston. Anyway I'm getting a new sr20de engine. Are there variants? The one I had supposedly had 140 hp. Is it possible that the engine I'm getting will have either less or more hp? I don't want to lose performance on my car for putting in an engine. Please help!!!

Umm, yeah there are plenty differnet sr20de engines. If you get one from Britain(EDM) it has a higher compression = more hp. Then you can get a sr20det. these are stock Nissan engines from overseas that come stock with turbos, the GTi-R engine more aggressive than the bluebird engine. If you want to get an sr20ve(it has NEO VVL(very similar to Honda vtech)that provides power throughout pwrband) these are easy to get, I think it is 187 hp. The rarest is the sr20vet which is a turbo NEO VVL. 280 hp I think, not sure. This is extremely rare and brand new in Japan. Good luck finding one. The sr20de engine here in the US is the weakest variant (correct me if I am wrong) of the sr20 engine. I know someone will post for you to search because this info is all over the forums but I thought I would tell you, I am trying to become a postwhore anyways so this is helping me. Hope I helped you. If this isnt enough you can prolly look in General for the FAQ's on stats on all engines that can be swapped into your car. Good luck

Hi all,

Dude! I had no idea that an sr20VE existed. I WANT ONE! Anybody know where I can get one?

In europe there was a SR20Di that had throttle port injection. It made about 125 hp I think.

Thank you for correcting me ;) Umm, check out SOKO, they are engine importers. I know JGYcustoms has them. www.JGYcustoms.com .
You wanna see a SR20VE? Go to the VE section or look at our Team Serious VVL NX2000.
