...then on their cars in the latest Super Street (350Z and SpecV) right before the MAF. What gives? And who makes their cold air intakes?

Why wouldnt it work on a MAF car?
Exactly. I'd be willing to bet that you could find a few SR20 members that have a AEM bypass on their CAI.
From what I understand they cause too much turbulance in the MAF and can cause it to read badly. I also here they disturb the airflow going into the motor.

I'm pretty positive that AEM makes the NISMO CAI for the 350z. (and B&B Tri-Flow makes the headers for the 350z)

Michael.
why wouldnt it work? it only opens when the filter is obstructed, so maybe you would run lean out and stall, but better than hydrolocking.
yeah if nissan is going to be selling you a part they dont want to be responsible for causing hydrolock and replacing you 350z motor.
LOL , I've seen the Nismo CAI in person , on my Supervisor's 2002 Spec-V . It looks nice and the by-pass valve fits perfectly . I'm currently trying to design one to fit my HS CAI for my B15 SE w/pp .

The Nismo CAI for the 350Z IS made by AEM.
