well took it to the shop
cause changing the alternator is a b.....
so we decided to do a compression test
and it came
130 all accross the board..

and sparkplugs are all clean....

standard: 178 psi
minimum: 149 psi
difference limit: 14 psi

The FSM just says crank engine and record highest gauge pressure. It's from a 1991 FSM, so it hsould apply to 1993's as well.

Did you hold the throttle wide open? If it was closed it could account for low readings. Never done it on a SR20DE, but this is the case with the umpteen bike and car engines I've tested over the years.

The numbers will be lower if the car isnt at operating temperature either...

your supposed to measure the first and 4th stroke.. only

operating temp was fine...
but the throttle was closed..
so thats why I got low numbers then...
we let it crank for about 4 times per cylinder...
