Is there a wire...

Is there either a neutral saftey switch wire, or in-gear wire sensor on the 95-97 B14 SE-Rs? If you know of one, and have an ECU pinout, or how I can tap into it so that my car will not start remotely with it in gear or without the ebrake up, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

There is a wire but on every car I've tested it doesn't work lol..
Its a neautral safety switch, forget the coloring on the 95+ cars but my NX has one and we tested it and alex and couldn't get it to show ground when in gear... BUT if I'm in cruise control and pull it out of gear (without hitting the clutch) the car knows it and kills cruise instantly...
So... it must work.. maybe some other way than I'm thinking lol

this one day my check light popped up and i checked it and the code was 10,3 which was the tranny neutral switch. is this the same and does it have any affect cause i reset it. thanks.

Well, what I am hoping to do it wire my remote starter so that it will not start if the tranny is in gear, or if the ebarke is not up-- whichever wire we have, i will use if possible. Sounds like there is only a tranny neutral sensor to me.
buy a remote starter that is stick safe trust me!!!!!!

That sucks, what happened, you run your car into something? I already have one thats not stick sfe, lol. However i dont plan on using the remote start alot, and i have never once left my car in gear since i started driving 5 speeds like 3 years ago. I would liek to try and wire a safety switch if possible though.

or u could just use a relay to the ebrake wire so that the remote start only works if it sees that triggered.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking of doing.
There is a wire that shows ground only when in neutral. I *think* it's green/orange. It's been a while since I did mine, but my remote start neutral safetly wire (DEI remote start wire blk/wht) is hooked up to this. I grabbed it on the drivers side of the center counsel at the harness that goes down the center from the tranny (right by the shifter). It works like a charm-never tries to start when it's in gear.

So you hooked up a relay to do that, or your DEI remote starter had an extra wire for the saftey? My remote starter doesnt have an extra wire for the safety switch, Im trying to figure out what wire to use, and how to hook up a relay of some sort so it wont start while its in gear. Thanks for your help man!

Uhh, Houston, we have a problem. Mine cuts the cruise off when i pull it out of gear or press the clutch pedal. Quit jacking my thread, unless you are gonna hook me up with my parts :D LOl j/k
its kinda on topic....so... is there somthing wrong with my baby??? so it shouldnt redline itself if i pull it out of gear????damn. BTW, i have pulled a lot of parts of that car, my fender is fixed, my door is together with working windows. oops, i jacked it again.
With the DEI remote start units (and a few others like Audiovox), there are 2 grounds that are needed for the unit to engage the remote start-one for the unit's ground (- power), and a second wire (blk/wht) that must be grounded for the remote start to work. Without that 2nd ground on the blk/wht wire, it will not even attempt to remote start. You may want to check and see if there is some kind of input on your remote start that does a similar function. As I said, all of the DEI remote starts (Vipers, Rattler, Pythons, Valet, etc.) have this wire.

Well, I do know that my brain has a pin for a hood pin switch, so the car will not start when the hood is open. I coudl care less about that, as I will not be stupid and try to start the car with the hood open. Maybe I could take that wire and wire it to the ebrake wire. Do you or anyone know if the ebrake puts out a constant power when up, either (+) or (-)? If not, does the in-gear wire produce eitehr of those? Thanks!

Lol, i dont car, i was joking. However, I do need those parts if you are going to take it apart...you wouldnt need them anyways if you keep it :). I really want those clips, that annoys this hell outta me, it looks like my car is coming apart...well...because it is!

Anyone know about either wire's voltage when triggered?
