Well after the poor showing at last years nationals I was looking to build my Z car into a SM2 car, but after this last weekend in SD against some top competition, the SE-R performed pretty good. Even though I finished in 8th place it was the best finish at a national evernt for me in that car since I started modding it. My time on Sunday was the fifth fastest and within striking distance of the leaders, and I still have some things to do.

1. remove AC
2. Install LCA Brace
3. Install poly bushings
4. Motor Mounts
5. Underdrive Pulleys
6. Rear STB
7. New lighter and lower racing seats.
8. Increase spring rate to 600F/800R/revalve the Koni's
9. Roll fender lips and drop car another inch.
10. Move battery to trunk.
11. Maybe a set of the 15x7.5 SSR's

I hope to get the car to about 2350 lbs, with these mods and an improvement in my driving I think I can beat the Civics.

It better because there will be nothing left to do.

Well... There is one thing. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Sell your classic and get yourself an EF Civic hatchback. :)

Never will I sell my SE-R! But I may have to buy a  Civic. NOT

If I can't get the SE-R competitive, then I will build the Z Car.

What does your SE-R weigh now? Did you weigh it at Nationals?
I had it corner weighted just before the nationals, 2445 lbs.

I figure 50lbs for the AC
25 lbs in lighter seats
Turn my new rotors to the minimum 10lbs
UD Pulleys 5lbs
Light weight shorty exhaust 15lbs

I weighed mine at Nationals - 2400 lbs.

Already removed A/C (40 lbs), one lighter seat, and UD pulleys.

I'm not sure about moving the battery, as I plan on getting a smaller battery anyway, but the weight of the cables to go to the back need to be taken in to account.

Have you considered using a lightweight battery like the Hawker Genesis G16EP. I have been using this for the past 2 years, and have had no problems. And comparing 16lb to a conventional battery, can't go wrong there...

Sorry, it wasn't on your list. I did not see PS removal on your list, is something you have considered?
No not even a consideration, not in autocross.
