man, you surely left no stone unturned during this painting process. my hats off to you. great job so far.

now get a turbo on her ; ).

by the way, how hard was it to remove the nose ? i did it on my last nx, but i know i did it the wrong way. ended up pulling the fenders off with the nose.

Well, sadly enough I didn't do the body work. I heard the nose was a bitch. The shop told me damn ear all bolts were rusted. Go figure. At least now there will be fresh bolts if I ever have to pull the nose off again.... when it comes time to replace the lights, I'll let ya know!

This paint job will certainly be worth the money. I got a lot of faith in these guys. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for her to get done. And yes, I would love a turbo. I'm decent on the mechanical side but I don't think I could handle a turbo project alone. I guess I just ain't read enough about it to know for sure.

It took me a sec to realize what was going on in those front bumper pics lol. What is that a 67 mustang or something?

The progress looks good btw.

actually its not that bad. search for some pics. the hardest part is drilling the block and doing a good tap. some people just tap the pan for a return. other then that its a cake walk.

It's funny... not too long ago I contemplated selling her rather than sink some money into her. I'm glad I came to my senses!

I'm not even going to get into the list of the next "to do's". I'll be recovering form this project for a little while. I would love to get some nicer looking lights and rims. agh, rims....

I'm going to slap a a nice powder coated infiniti valve cover on it and call it a day for a little while...

Thanks paNX! You guys know there will be more photos soon! I'm not sure what the hell that thing is that my nose is sitting on. I noticed the pic looked really freaky! Glad it wasn't just me! I'll have to ask them what that was. Now you got me wondering.

Peace out folks!

I got it last summer. It ran about 3200 since they did some body work too. Gonna get it touched up soon and put a 3M clear bra on it. :D
very nice wheel and new paint combo :biggthump trying to get mine ready for the same and I hope mine turns out like yours,,,

I did want to drop a friendly comment on your choice of paint protectant,, I've noticed in this industry it's a dog eat dog world (nose guard & paint protectant) .... well so be it but it does'nt have to be dog eat your freaking paint up world.. I install about 20-30 nose guards a month,,, and I have to remove about 15-20 that have already been installed by one of my competitor's (no names) but I will say what they use and what it does to the paint,,,, first just to let you know who some of my customers ,,,, Martin Truex Jr (07' ZO6 Vette),, Richard Childress (07 Tahoe), Ray Everham ( motor coach) and thats just a few.... what the Diamondshield (3M) does after the 3rd month it WILL start to change color and start to crack around the edges(good thing is you won't notice as fast because of the color you went with) however if it stays on the paint more than a week and you have to romove it for some reason it will pull some of the paint off and or (both) leave un Godly glue from one end to another which will result in having to use a adhesive remover which is never good for paint (common sence will already know that)

very first thing is when a sales man tells you that his product DOES NOT turn colors (yellow effect) he's lieing out hi @ss .. lets face a sales mans job is to sale right?? in fact there is No one single paint protectant product that won't turn colors in time... but some will last longer than others and most of all some won't hurt you paint when removal is nesseccery ANOTHER FACT 3M will only be a 2 or 4 mil film depends on if the salesman offers you,,,,,,2 and 4 mil film does'nt stop alot of road damage coming through it,,, ..... I know I've just torn a hole in this thread and I'm sorry if I spoke out of line..... BUT I really like you Egg and just wanted to help........... I'm not here trying to sale you my product at all but if some how you decide to look in another direction for paint protectant I will help you (not sale) but hook you up with one for your Egg.... mine will be a 6 mil product and won't hurt the paint over time....
I'm getting my Rotten Egg painted in about a month and after the paint cures(4-7 wks) I'm installing it on the front and down the side of the doors a-pillers and around the fender wells,,,, ,,,,,

again VERY NICE EGG :biggthump I'm jealous LOL

Great information here. I was going to do a little more digging before I decided on the product to go with. You've given me lots to think about! I may PM you for some more info if you don't mind! :) Tks for the compliments and information!

No prob man.... theres alot of names out there that makes the paint protection,, and as far as I know NOBODY has our Egg's in there database,, so that being said I'm going to get a pattern off of mine in a few days and I'll have it digitized.... only when I do mine I'm going to cover alot of area even if someone don't want to use it all.. it will still be avalible,, I'm going to make the whole front facial in one piece ,, seperate at the seems of course... I'll come up with some good data for you to research when your ready... Later,,, and just case I did'nt tell you ,,, your Egg is Awsome!!!!! :biggthump
