What are these? Whose got the info or where can I find it? I saw some posts earlier but some techno-babble would be great. How do they compare with the S-series?

Thanks

All I know, is these are the cams that put you closer to the 200 whp marc.there was a magazine feature talking about them but they werent available to us but now they are but cost over 1000 bucks. s3/s4 don't come close to c2/c3 I've heard. I myself want to know more about them. you also have to change the retainers and springs with these cams also.

Theres a bunch of combos. C1, C2, C3...etc.....hmm actually I don't even know if C1 is available. Maybe its just C2 and C3. Anyways, the C3's are the best but probably have thw worst idle. Comes with valve springs and retainers.

Actually the only ones available currently are the C1's, and C2's. They are pretty impressive however. Most of what I read seems to be speculation but they seem pretty nice. The cost however isn't that nice. The cams themselves run $560. Not too bad. BUT you have to buy the new springs and titanium retainers. Those will set you back $600. Then you have to have the JWT ECU set for them at a cost of $100. (as long as you have the ECU which IS required) As far as the power gains go I have heard the numbers 45-50 peak HP gains mentioned. I don't know if these are the C2's, or the unavailable C3's But the C3's when released yield 10 more hp then the C2's but are a much more aggressive cam with a high rpm power band and rough idle. How do I know all this? I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.. lol seriously though if someone else knows more please do tell.

i dont know who told you 50hp, gains, but you are dreamin
Theyr good gains, but not that good. The cams/retainers/springs come together and cost like 1200 bucks, and oyu have ot buy an ecu for $595, if you dont already have one. If you have one, just get it reprogrammed for $100. the c3's arent out yet, but you can order them...you just have ot wait for them. What else oyu wanna know?! If rob sees this he may be able to post a dyno or 2

Rob posted this on the ClubSi board - C3 cams dyno chart, with several different ECU programs:

He also posted a dyno chart for the S3 cams, for comparison's sake (many of you have probably seen this before):

C3 cams had over a 50hp gain at 7800rpm. Closer to 60hp if I'm looking at Robs dyno chart right.

Rob had to retard his exhaust cam 2.5* with the lower compression motor to eliminate too much blow down. JWT may end up putting that degree right into the billet. Maybe not.

Rob was on the stock ECU with just the rev limit bumped up and did not have the retainers.

C2's made very good power as well, and are probably the better choice for an everyday driver unless you have very long hairy arms and scabbed knuckles.

50hp? Thats frikking sick-ass. Wicked!

Would that make the C series cams the best bang for the buck? Let's see....doing a little math here.....assuming the C3's cost $1100, and make 50hp, thats exactly $22 per 1 horsepower. The S4 cams are $560 and they make like 16hp, so that is $35 per 1 horsepower. Guess so!

Let's see what else.....hmm a $500 Greddy exhaust makes lets say 4hp. That comes to $125 per 1 hp. That sucks!

Hmm what else....PR or HS CAI. $210 and makes 8hp. That totals $26.25 per 1 horsepower. Hmm this is fun. So far the C cams are still at the top.

Hotshot header....lets say makes an average of 10hp and costs brand new about $420. That equals $42/per hp. Closer...

Let's see, I spent around $1500 for about 80hp, that's $18.75 per hp. With a $5-10 boost controller add maybe 40hp or so to that. That makes the cheap T25 turbo setup the best bang for the buck! C2/C3 cams would be next on the list

First there was Stillen 1G header then the 2G header then the 4-1.
Then the was the HS Gen1-2-then 3 even a Gen 4 header.
First there was Nismo intake cams. Then the JWT S2-S3 then S4. Now there are C1-C2 and C3.
WHERE DOES IT END???
It almost makes me not want ot buy new parts because next year newer parts seem to just out do the previous parts.

Forced induction does not count. Booooo....Hisssssss
It is easy to extract power from forced induction. It is the easy way out. With NA it is more costly and harder

Hehhe. Well I had S3 cams in my classic last year but it's sold. Now I have S4 cams in my 98. So thats the best cams (without spending a ridiculous amount of $$) you can get for now.

I'm a little peeved that I bought my 2nd G3 header though and found out a G4 is out now.
