ok, my ecu keeps going into limp mode ( i think)
it won't rev past 2500

car is 95 200sx se-r, roller rocker motor (stock ecu)

so far ive:
checked the maf voltage and continuity
changed the maf
changed the coolant temp sensor
changed the crank angle sensor
checked the voltage on the tps ( at first it seemed a little low but i adjusted it and it was within specs)

the car ran perfectly fine 3 days ago and then all of the sudden started messin up

what other sensors cause the ecu to go into limp mode?
what else should i check?

sometimes if i leave the battery off for 24 hours it runs fine for the first time that i start it up, then if i start it up again it goes back into limp mode:confused:

Wierd... it sounds like an MAF prob... but you replaced it.

You said you checked the wiring too?

Are you using any sensors from the new motor?

What about Spark Plugs?

Are you using the JDM Primera Intake Manifold? I think the IACV is different (might not make a dif)

What about the knock sensor?

Timing? You check it?

... Thats all I can think of...

havn't checked the knock (can you just check voltage or do you just have to replace it and see) cause it's hard to get to lol

yeah using the jdm manifold
and the jdm sensors except the coolant temp which is new

the timing shouldn't be off cause the motor ran for the last 3 months
but i guess i should check it to see if it jumped or somthin

is there any way other than an obd2 scanner to check the ecu codes?
i don't want to drive it into town like this

ok, took the car into town at a whoping 40mph
and i checked the ecu codes, the only one that came up was coolant termperature sensor

and it was brand new, but i figured autozones parts are not that reliable anyway
so i went ahead and bought one, still did nothing

i'm going to go grab a knock sensor and see if maybee that does somthing
but shouldn't the engine light be on for somthing?

and if i leave the battery off for 24 hours the car runs fine
i left it running for an hour, and drove it around

but as soon as you turn it off and back on boom back in limp mode

if there is somthing to cause it to go into limp mode wouldnt that make it run bad when it was running right?

you know, this sounds like what is happening to me. EXACTLY. i installed my running turbo motor from my wrecked car into my donor car. started up great the first time, after i had installed a fresh battery. started up, reved good in the shop. i had a few things to finish, so i turned it off, delt with them, and started it up, and it ran like total crap. i just disconeccted the battery, gonna see what happens. anyone have a clue whats going on, what we should check for? im still going with maf problem.
