it is not a common fail item, but if you get it wet, over-oil your filter, too much boost, ect, ect can cause it to go bad, either that or it shorts outNissanTuner said:

I don't think it'd go bad unless you got it wet (sucked in water and your motor would be toast anywayz), got oil on it (maybe too much oil in the air filter), or dropping it. But it's rare that one goes bad.
