I am looking for a little help with brake pads, and I figured people in this section would know the answers. I bought this setup at the end of the year: http://www.sr20forum.com/naturally-a...-calipers.html and I am finally putting it on my car sometime in the next few weeks in preparation for the convention. These are on the way: http://fastbrakes.com/shop/product_i...products_id=62 and I have the Maxima calipers and an Altima m/c on the way as well. I also have the stainless lines on the shelf in the garage.

What I need to know is if I should use the pads that came with the set (Hawk Race HP Plus ...possible part number HWK-HB100N-480, box is in rough shape) as street/daily pads and pick up something else for the track and future HPDE days? Or should I pick up something else as a daily pad and use these as track pads? Or are these ok for both street and track use? I'm a little lost on this subject.

Joe,

Use the Hawk pads. You will be fine. Just realize the first few stops everytime you get in the car will be a little soft until you get some heat in them. Also be aware that these will lock the wheels up with any kind of DD tire that is not 200 treadwear or less.

One other thing... they will dust like MOFOs!

I have some S-03 pole positions (195/50-15) on my Volks for daily use, and some Azenis 215's (205/50-15) with good tread on Kosei's that I am bringing for track use.

Is this going to be the impossible to get off killer dust, or just need to rinse off weekly to keep looking good dust?

Just keep the wheels clean and you should be fine.

With the 'Stones and Azenis you should not have to worry as much about locking the brakes up... but you will.... ;)
