It is a long story but in brief I purchased a U13 motor with precision SC61 turbo, protec manifold, aftermarket fuel rail w/ precision 720cc injectors, 3" downpipe and 3" intercooler piping.
The reason I purchased the motor was more or less for the built bottom end for reliability purposes. I really do not intend on laying down the horsepower this set up is capable of. Please keep in mind I have not install the new motor as of yet. So, if you have any suggestions that I should replace while the motor is out please let me know.
Anyway, I want to bring it back down to a semi-stock setup. So, I have already purchased a U13 Manifold. My questions are below:
- What are my choices of turbo's (T-25, T-28, etc.) I can mount to my U13 manifold?
- Should I stick with the 720 cc injectors or go with the 370cc injectors?
- Will the injectors from a Z32 work on the stock fuel rail from a SR20DE?
- The precision turbo mounts on top of the manifold, does that mean I need entirely different downpipe and J-tube?
- I assume I will need the stock water and oil lines, correct? Is there anywhere I can get new/aftermarket water and oil lines?
- I have 3" intercooler and piping will these work with my new turbo setup?
- Can I run the Nismo Adj fuel pressure regulator with the new setup or do I need to go with a SARD or Aeromotive?
- I plan on running a SAFC II, I assume I can stick with my stock ecu, correct?
- Would the recirc BOV that JGY sell work with my new turbo setup?
- Will my stock MAF work with my new setup?
I'm sorry but what the hell is wrong with you. why would you down grade. Thats just my opinion but an sc61 just about owns any motor. With the money it would take to bring it back "stock like" you could buy a p11-b15 tranny and not worry about a thing.
Yes, the motor is going into my B13. I have tried to search however I can't seem to find the exact answers I need. I don't think many on this forum have a SC61 setup and trying to downgrade while salvaging the parts I do have.
I am thinking of selling the entire setup, the member that I purchased this setup from assured me he was boosting a steady 30psi making 545 fwhp. I just don't have the axles, trans, etc to handle this horsepower. As I said this is my daily driver and do not need it to break on me. Plus putting to many miles on my Z right now.
Ok, I did some more searching last night, as I mentioned I can't seem to find an exact answer to my questions. I assumed that the questions I asked were simple for some of you experienced swap guys. Please help.
Man i drove a large turbo powered car for years a Daily driver . I had a SC61 for over a 1yr drove daily with that specific setup 100+ miles a day no issues..
problem is I will probably have to rebuild the entire turbo due to shaft play, seal leak, and badly chipped compressor wheel. Plus, I don't want to risk breaking the tranny with too much horsepower.
On a side note, how much do you think it would cost to rebuild the turbo?
$250 to rebuild the turbines. There's a lot of users sending theirs off to this place for rebuild. Can't remember the name, but I'm sure someone can chime in.
Oh yeah, and keep all your stuff! No sense in going BACKWARDS! The ONLY way I would take a forcefed monster out of the engine bay, is if I got bored with it and decided to go VE.
Uhmm...Dude, you got screwed according to that other thread. So many things went wrong, it's not even funny.
Buyer beware. I'd be double checking my paperwork, etc, to ensure that you're covering your ass, and then I'd sue the shipping company if they don't try and resolve this issue.
I've got a near set up engine wise as you do and I'm not known as the SC61 master for nothing.
First time in the car at 13psi (mind you the efficiency on the SC STARTS at 15) I nearly **** my pants and screamed like a little girl.
If you have ANY questions about the SC61 I'm the person to ask. I may sound biased but you will NOT find a more efficient and good "big" turbo for the SR than that one. I say spend the money to get it rebuilt and be happy. I can drive the car normal all day long without breaking a sweat. (Well, A/C is out but I disgress).
Anyways, don't go backwards on your setup. You'll regret it. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm currently in arizona leaving back home in a few mins. I have the name of the turbo re-build place saved on my computer at home. I believe it was arizona turbo rebuild?
Ill have an answer for you by about Sunday.
Cheers-
Erich
