I have a 99 Sentra 1.6, I just bought a Japspec SR20DE. Other than the tranny, engine harness, ecu, axles. What eles do I need? What about the OBDII system, will the ecu have to come from a newer car to plug into my car to make everything work?

Thanks

You do indeed need motor mounts, and the crossmember, and you need an OBD II ECU.

I got my engine from Nipon Motors in Cali. Cost me $495.00 shipping and all. I spent the day looking for parts. I found a 98 200SX at (N&S Auto Salvage) but the tranny is gone. They have the ECU. The car is a five speed my car is an automatic. I kinda wanted to make this swap as painless as possible. I found a 95 G20 auto at Four Lane Salvage, they want $700 for the tranny and it is a non-locking set up?? What tranny should I use and what year car? I am thinking 98-99 200SX. This OBDII stuff, the ECU has to come from a newer car. Any ideas??????? Hey fellas from Nashville we need to get together and go to Union Hill for Import night.

They are except for the on by the alternator. No big deal changing it. The engine should drop right in. I am worried about the little stuff that pops up. Plus the drivetrain set-up...

I know where a automatic 200SX SE-R is at a junk yard. I'll call a friend who worked there, and see how much for the tranny. You don't want a G20 tranny. With one of those, you run in to problems like drive axle lengths, and no LSD. How much of the motor did you get? The MAF is different on the GA16DE from the SR20. You'll also need an exaust manifold for a SR20, as well as an intake.

I called and the tranny is $550. Its a '96 SE-R with ~80k miles. Let me know if you are interested.

That really make me confuse. That is y till now I have not done my swap yet, cause I want to get a B13 SR20 cross member.

I'm in Smyrna and i think it would be cool for all of us to go to Union Hill, but good luck getting NoVTEC to come. He's an autoXer, doesn't care for the straight line stuff.later

Didn't it used to be every Tuesday night or something like that? Maybe we could coax Eric to race. Hell, if they have grudge matches, then Eric can even race me(would you run then Eric, you are guaranteed to win!) later.
