there is this odd noise when i close either of the doors on my car, whether or not they are locked or not.
about 7-12 seconds after the door latches shut, you hear a light clunk...as if a lockpin or something just engaged.
Wham! goes the door...then silence...count to 10....*******. its not very loud, i only notice it when its quiet outside. do you think it is part of some sort of alarm system that a previous owner had? the car has no power locks or anything, and nary a siren under the hood. the only thing resembling any sort of security measure is this cool cylinder lock beneath the ashtray which i've traced to be a fuel pump cutoff. that and what may be phony "this car is equipped with a security system" stickers on the *outside* of the windows.
