In May, I had my car inspected. I barely passed the emissions test due to my exhaust putting out a high NOx content. I was 3 under the state standard. 1183 out of 1186, I believe my reading was. I checked my EGR hoses for vacum leaks, and there doesn't appear to be any. I also tested the EGR to see if it was functioning properly, per the information found in my Haynes manual. It seems to be functioning fine. When I accelerate, I do hear a slight hissing sound, however; which is a sign of a vacum leak, I would imagine. What else besides the EGR valve could possibly cause high NOx emission?
