I know the NX rims are 14x6 as opposed to the SE-R which are 14x5.5. What is the stock tire size for the NX? Is the overall tire height the same on an NX as a B14? Just curious if 205/50-15s would put the speedo of an NX2000 off or not.

Stock tire size is 195/55R-14. I say run the 205/50R-15 size anyway. We're talking about a speedometer error of less than 1%. One would think that stock size gave the NX slightly shorter gearing than the SE-R since the SE-R came with 185/60R-14 tires stock. YMMV, of course!

Are you sure about that, Louis? It shows 195/55R-14 in the '93 SE-R/NX FSM, and it says it on the door placard. Even SE-R.net shows the NX2000 coming with 195/55R-14 (Bridgestone RE71's, too!)

195 55 14 Bridgestone RE71's stock.
The only ones left to buy as I remembered are SP8000's.

yeah, 195/55/14 is the size I still have my stock wheels with the original tires from the first NX.

I'm running 215-45-15 tires on my NX2000 which is almost identical to the stock rolling circumference of 195-55-14. A small percentage (well under 1% off).

wait, so you guys are saying that we can put 15 " tires on our 14" rims....is that possible?? I know the only 195/55 r14's out there are the dunlop sp8000's, which isnt cool, its too bad they dont still make the potenza's, those tires grip the road like glue....

No, it's not possible.

I picked up some nice 9 lb 15" rims to mount my summer tires on, and I use the stock 14" rims for snows in the winter.

The stock size was 195/55/14 for the NX. But that doesn't mean the speedo is correct with that size. OEM speedo's usually read 5-10% high by design...the interesting thing is that the odometers read correctly.
Anyway...using a calibrated radar gun, I found that the speedo is dead on using brand new kuhmo V700 tires in the 205/50/15 size. This doesn't mean that any 205/50/15 will be correct as each model varies in exact dimensions. If you want you speedo to be dead on check with the manufacturer for exact specs. You want a tire which has a loaded rotations per mile rating of about 889 +/- 1.
