I need to weld a bung on the stock jdm primary. How far away from the head does the o2 sensor have to be?

I was thinking of putting the bung on the #3 runner, just above where all the extra tubing is welded to the runner. Would that be too close to the head?

Also, I don't want to put the o2 too far down, like on the downpipe, since I already have a stock o2 sensor, and the wire isn't that long.

You can extend the wires on the plug side and not the O2 sensor. Keep in mind it may be easier to put the O2 on the down pipe. It does come located there in JDM land when using the exhaust manifold. It might alot be a PITA to put a bung on that manifold. It is hard stuff.

Why not put it on the secondary, at the 2 - 1 merge, like on the Fujitsubo?

On cyl 3, just above the flange plate, just above the front dog bone.

I recommend a merge or front pipe.

I had to cut out the flex pipe and put a solid pipe in there, and just welded the bung to the newly added pipe. Just had to pull back the wires a bit, and didn't have to add any new wires.
