I recently purchased an autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge. My question is would I be able to use high pressure rubber hose instead of the nylon hose? I have a male 1/8" NPT to 1/8" hose barb adapter for the nissport side and a female 1/8" NPT to 1/8" hose barb adapter for the gauge side. Would a high pressure rubber hose be "better" than the nylon?

It depends on how much of a chance you are willing take with having 250* oil sprayed all over you and your interior. Thats why I went with an electrical guage :)

The nylon line is crap. You should avoid using it if at all possible. I am not sure about a barbed hose connection. It would probably be ok but I don't know if I would trust it completely even though it is how our stock fuel lines are done.

The best thing you can do is get a steel braided -4AN hose from your local hose supply house(look in the yellow pages for hose supply etc...)

I hope this helps.
