A few weeks ago my 93 NX had steam coming out of the radiator. I took it to the shop and they replaced the upper radiator hose and added some anti-freeze. Since then the car has an anit-freeze smell coming from the vents and if the A/C is on the temp guage will start going up, and when it gets to about 2/3 of the way the air won't be cold. The fan does work and the anti-freeze tests good with my hydrometer. Also the anti-freeze was flushed in May. Any ideas on what is making it smell or overheat with the AC on? Thanks.

That is a common problem with NX2000's. Eventually the temps go down with driving. The problem falls mainly with your radiator cap. Replace it and watch what happens. It may go up a bit but it will eventually come back down. It is funny, the car will raise in temps when the temp outside is over 90 and you are on the highway moving (the opposite of what it is supposed to do).

Try this trick. Use a radiator cap from a '93 300ZXTTZ. It has a higher opening pressure which will prevent cavitation at the water pump at high speeds.
Also, how old is your thermostat?
