hello, i am new here and i'm 15 years old. i'm on a extremely tight budget right now (with insurance and the fact that i'm getting 5.50/hour and working about 15 hours a week) and i saw the pacesetter header for se-r's for 125 bucks. is that a good buy? i have a 1991 sentra se-r that i love to death. i've put a arospeed tunable bomb exhaust system on it (2.25 inch piping from the cat. back) and a k&n filtercharger. also, what is a good cone-type intake for the se-r's? any help appreciated!

From what I heard it's not that good for performance and it also deteriorates rapidly so you would have to replace it after a year or so. That's what I can remember hearing about it on SE-R.net.

Have you done all the tune up stuff to it yet? Go to www.se-r.net and read all the tune up stuff there. If it's not running ship shape, then just by getting it up to snuff you can reclaim quite a bit of power. Check that timing! Reground that MAF! etc etc

pacesetter is ok but if you don't plan to lower you car cause if you do you'll have a little clearance problem and be scraping them on the floor every dip you encounter. stock springs are stiff anyway from factory! so the header is cool.

Sport Compact Car did a header comparo for the SR20DE last year - the Pacesetter was one of the headers tested. Check their website or email them for the specific month. If I remember tonight, I'll bring it with me to work and give you the month, and maybe a few specifics.

Also, before making a decision, you need to determine HOW you want to drive you car. Each performance product produces different performance characteristics - you should check out this article, and ask those who own the different products for their impressions. Good luck.

well i plan to do just about everything with my car. i want to autocross it, i want to take it to a track-day every once in a while. definatly want to street race it, i can't stand honda boys thinking they have more than me when they get smoked every day. plus american cars make a good diet.

so basically the header will be for all purpose, i am trying to build the up my car safely, but enough to get noticable power increases.
