what does it sound like when it goes bad? I have a moaning and scraping sound whenever I decelerate and brake, and nothing is wrong with the brake system, but it sounds like it is coming from that area. any ideas, I am very frustrated at the car right now b/c I can't find out what is wrong to fix the problem. shitshitshitshitshit. I HATE my car.

Mine sounded kinda like a wheel bearing going bad almost a grindind , vibrating noise. If you look at the mount where the bolt goes through the rubber will probably be cracked , good luck.

pull the e brake and put the tranny in reverse and in forward. you should be able to hear the motor shifting pretty heavily, almost a slapping sound. if it is a stock mount and it is bad just look at it closly, it should be/have a crack across it.

sound went away this morning, but I will still take a look at it???????????? who knows, I will still tear it down and find out this weekend.
