My Quaife-equipped SE-R should be ready at the end of the day.

Actually, it has to be shimmed into the tranny. The fuss is getting the sizes right for the shims.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. But the Quaife application is for all VLSD-equpped SR20DE's, transmission designation RS5F32V. So if you have one of them RS5F32V trannys, then it should work.

My Quaife is in, and I picked up the car last night!
I really don't have any impressions of it 'cause I got a new clutch installed, too, and I'm afraid to really let her rip 'til the clutch breaks in.
I'm autocrossing this weekend, though, so that should be a good test for it.

Tell me who installed your Quaife. You know I just broke my tranny this past weekend and I had a Quaife unit in it. I broke 4th gear. I only had 5k on the used tranny and quaife and the gear were cryo treated. Please test this for me. Drive the car hard and I mean hard (after you break in your clutch). Then feel the tempretaure of the bell housing where the Quaife unit is installed. Tell me if it get really hot. If it does, I suspect that the clearances are too tight inside your tranny.

Again it depends on who installed it. Did you get instructions on how to install it? If so can you share them with me.

Thanks

Datsun Dynamics in Vienna, Va., did the install. They talked with Autotech directly before putting it in.

It was just under $1,000 for labor alone, a few hundred more for various odds and ends. Not to mention a new JWT clutch after they said it looked like my Centerforce was pretty worn.
But they are a Datsun/Nissan specialist with experience building racecars from the ground up, so the expense didn't bother me much. There aren't too many places around here that I would trust for something like this.

I can give a detailed expen$e list when I get home.
