Alright.... Atlanta Region got a big push this year with the first ProSolo of the season. I have never done one of these events and am going as a rookie this weekend.

Does anyone have experience with this format and any tips, hints, advice?

There has been some talk about a changed format this year with no break between you 1&2 runs and your 3&4 runs. In the past we would regrid between the runs. The most important thing to remember is that only your best run on each side counts and you get six shots at each side. Try to get a clean run with a decent side on each side and then go for it.

thanks, i am really lookin forward to this. i am not running my car but co-driving a buddy's 93 SE-R with GCs and stuff.. so basically similar setup to mine. at least the SE-R will the best hole shot in STS with low RPM torque... until we hit the twisty stuff and the Si's fly...

You better hope no Impreza's show up.. but you'll beat them anyway through the corners. :D

Good luck!

Unfortunately, not only is there an Impreza (driven by a good driver) but also a Corrado driven by last year's BS national champion. So, at best, you're third at the hole shot... And I wouldn't bet against the 189whp Celica GT-S either.

Have fun, I'm insanely jealous my car's not done yet. :(

Last year I ran against Hiroo Sumida several times. Observers noticed that the Subies got me at the start but by the first turn I had caught up. Then he beat me in the turns, Hiroo is one good driver.

No Imprezas in STS at a Pro? Yeah, right!! You'll be .5 sec down on them by 60 feet. I actually was able to read the words "Impreza 2.5 RS" on teh back of every one I lined up against. I don't care how much quicker you are through the corners, that is a hole you can't climb out of at that level. You can't spot a national level driver 1 second (.5 sec X 2 sides) and expect to come out on top. Forget it.

Yeah I've got a tip, don't beat me in my own car. :)

I'm the guy who's car Brian is co-driving. I'm not so sure I'd travel to a ProSolo, but this one is being held 5 minutes from my house. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get my ass handed to me by national caliber drivers when the round trip "commute" is only 10 minutes. The last time I checked there were 26 people signed up for STS. I'd be happy not to end up last.
