Question about Lovefab Manifold!!

1585 Views 10 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Master_Sentra
Hey guys,

I just received my lovefab topmount manifold that I'm planning to install on my DET with a GT3582R turbo, the thing is that when I compared the manifold's flange hole with the turbo gasket, the manifold hole is smaller.

Do you think this can be an issue or a simple porting of the flange can solve it??...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

TBH, I don't see enough of a problem to worry yourself with shaving every little bit. How does the flange look on the turbine?
The flange lines up perfectly with the turbine, the problem is with the center hole that is smaller in the flange than in the turbine/gasket...
ALL GASKETS ARE LIKE THAT - EVEN HEAD GASKETS (NOTICE A 86MM BORE HG IS 86.5MM)

EDIT- MOST**

SRY BOUT CAPS - WORK COMPUTER IS STUPID/
I know, but the gasket is almost a perfect match with the turbo outlet...
I also had the same problem with the lovefab manifold. I ordered 2 of them and both of them had a smaller port on the turbo flange. and one of them had an horrible flange on the head side with oversized hole that caused the manifold to move left and right for about 3 mm.to be honest i don't think that porting the turbo flange will solve the problem, as on the manifolds I have seen, also the merge collector was smaller than the turbine housing.
moved to a protech since then, and perfect fit in every aspect.

I've also noticed that the merge collector diameter is quite small.... It looks like lovefab manifolds are like this and still make good power...

And from the rest of the guys, it looks like there will be no difference in porting the flange to match the turbo outlet....

Cheers,
for sure it will make good power and probably you won't notice any difference by porting it, but since the price is high, i would have prefered to have a manifold with the flanges with the right shape and size...
New problems appeared when trying to install the manifold, Ill be posting pictures later.... one of the runners touches the gearbox and does not allow the manifold to go in place.
The flange was a hybrid to fit VE and DE heads and the company that cut the flanges messed on a couple holes where there were a touch bigger. It has NO effect on the rest of it. The flange center hole though should match pretty close tot he turbo. You will be just fine on that stuff though. I think Cody should switch to a different T3 flange witha larger inner hole, but I have seen them come from ATP and many other places like that.

Well, here are the pics of the fitment issue....

You'll see here that there is a small gap between the manifod flange and the head

And this is why.....
