Since I'll probably be moving out soon due to graduating college, and that my parents have a second phone line and a free 56k account since I work at the ISP, and that we got a thing from Verizon about $32.50 DSL service, they decided to go ahead and get the DSL and cancel the second phone line. So I decided to go ahead and pay for a static IP with it and get a domain name registered with it. When I move out I'll just take the static IP and website with me.

So what do we want? My first choice would be www.sr20forums.com. Any other suggestions?

This should all be happening in about a month.

And no, I'm not having www.clubse-r.com

what, isn't "http://laf.cioe.com/~benbobbo/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro" catchy enough? Doesn't everybody have it memorized, or do you all have to search for UBB from the archives to find it when you dont have it bookmarked (like I do)?

www.HoNdUhzRULE.com Just kidding.
www.sr20forums.edu cuz were taking people to school.

I like your choice and can't think of any (serious) better name.

1 vote for www.sr20forums.com
(and yes I puched all the way thru the card).

I just go to se-r.net and look on the SR20 webring. It has been hard to tell people about the BB without giving them the link. Now I can put the BB address on the new SE-R flyer.

Well, I don't know much if anything about the other Nissan cars out there. www.freshalloy.com has already pretty much taken that niche. b15sentra.net has take the niche of the b15's. sentra.net used to have forums, dunno if they still do. g20.net might have forums too. I know about SR20's, as most of us on here do, so it's going to stay an SR20 forum.

I'm serious!

Hey Ben if you want I'll make up a nice header for the site (Graphically speaking) If you don't know, this is what I do for a living www.ctwd.net

Ben how much are you paying for the static IP? I can get you on world class (Worlds largest web hosting wholesalers) hosting company for the measly fee of $5.95 a month. This is on a network that will blow away a DSL (Like three DS3 backbones) with 254 redundant servers and about 60meg of drive space.

Let me know and I'll hook you up with the company.

Neat! So it's a hosting company with 60 meg of space and a static IP for $5.95? Wow. I wanted to admin my own box, but that is ****in tasty

Well, this is how it is so far. I get the $20 a month waived cuz I work at the ISP, and parents pay $13 a month for the second phone line. The Verizon dealie is $32.50 a month for the service and then like $7.50 a month for the ISP account on the server. Told my dad that and he says "The whole reason we were even considering it was because we'd either equal or save money. I have no problems with what we have now." So he doesn't want to pay $7-8 more a month for a much faster connection. It's 768k down 128k up.

Whatever. His loss.

Jay, 60MB is ok, but won't be enough for the long run. But it is neat. I COULD go ahead and get the think hosted there and then move my domain name to my own server later. Hmmm... tell me more about it. Is there a website for it?

And yeah, I'd love graphics done by you.

Know anything about advertising? I would take any funds made by the hits an put it into the site for sure.

Oh, and the static IP through Verizon is $60 a month.
I actually have one now for my dialup and have the thirdlevel domain sr20de.cioe.com as can be seen through my email address, and I run a mail server over my dialup, but I can't see running the forums over my dialup box. That would not be good for ya'll
It pays to get it in good with the NOC people

BTW, if anybody wants an email addy @sr20de.cioe.com I can make as many as you want for free
