Removing Shifter/Auto

I've got an automatic NX and I want to replace my auto shifter for an aftermarket shifter. However, this is unlike my previous Sentra. In the Sentra the t-shifter was removable by undoing 2 screws. In the NX those screws are there and I undid them but there are also two wires running through the stalk of the shifter(I believe its for the overdrive). I cant remove the wires(dont know how without damaging them). What do I have to do to install my aftermarket automatic tranny shifter?
