This is a post for pople trying to identify what engine they have...
Lets keep this to ONE POST PER PERSON UNLESS YOU NEED TO ADD SOMETHING. Make sure to include your USDM motors also. Also Inclued other markings on the head like 5R 1R 3L and such Tell alittle about your engine so we can get a list of what to look for in 10:1's and so on.. Pictures would be great also! Turbos will be added soon This list will be updated often!!!!

My Bluebird has it.... I noticed it when cleaning things up before the install.

I just went to double check mine before I posted I think I told you what I had was different than it is. Like I said though it already had the us manifold swapped on as it was in another forum members car for a week before he took it out for a DET. Mine is a 53J 3L silver cover black stripe, No ribs on the head. My USDM was a 53J 1R w/ ribs. What about numbers on the fronts of the motor? I also noticed a couple other castings elsewhere like under the coil there is a circle with a line through it and a small number 7. on the front there is a small M in a circle. Andreas Miko told me once that these numbers like 1R, 3L, 4J are just stampings in the block to tell which line they came off of so if there where a problem they could trace other motors from the same line. But I'm not positive we do need to figure it out though.

so far so good all the engines have a different head # except the USDM and the UK one so far

BTT

OK all i really need is what engine it is Head # (like 53J) and the head code (like 4L) valve cover details. If its JDM or USDM (if its USDM let me know what year)

PLEASE PLEASE Add to this it only takes 2 mis to look at the head for this info...............

i have a JDM motor, 53J 3L.... and the valve cover that came with it was a polished GTi-R VC so i dont know....

oh and what are the #s on front of the block right by the tranny and under the spot that says SR20 mean???those might mean something...

Does your engine have the ribs on the front of the head

Does it sound like this one

yeah it has the ribs.... and there is a circle with a line through it by the coil but i dont know about a 7 i will look later...

here we go

JDM 53J 3L, Ribbed head, All silver valve cover, either a 6 or 9 and a 1 in circles under the coil. That fits none of the thus described engines.

I'll add USDM #s tomorrow (its like a monsoon right now and I might melt:D )

i have a rwd sr20de...

52f head...from s13 silvia i think...

here in the Phil...they released the nissan Serena(mini van) with an sr20de...150hp...it has silver cover, looks like a low port to me...and it has stripes on the valve cover i think...dunno the head stamp

and they said its code was SR20M...hmm interesting..
