anyone have tips on using a left handed drill bit to remove a screw?

I was told by my friend to go slow, and spray water on it to cool it down

anything else?

edit - the bits i bought dont even say left handed drill bit on them. they say Screw Extractors - made by Vermont American. the tips arent pointy either, so theres no way they can get a screw out without a hole being drilled into the screw in the first place. did I buy the wrong thing?

Ok, I did it. for all who dont know how to remove a broken screw, here is what I did.

I drilled a small hole first, commonly known as a pilot hole, big enough for the tip of the screw extractor / left handed drill bit to go into. The first one I used was too small so it kept digging metal away, but the screw stayed put. So I drilled the pilot hole a little bigger, and went up to the next size screw extractor bit. The screw came out within about 4 seconds!!

I didnt use any water, but I did go slow.
