Welp another SE-R performance at a local autocross. Check out results:
http://www.nasaracing.net/autox/nov12_00/

The SE-R was Pat G's slowSER and i was shaking down his new SHOCKTECH suspension system, it was simply amazing how much of a difference a GRAND in shocks will make a car handle. The car still needs a little tweaking so i ran it in the local class instead of the PROKHANA which i usually run in. BUT look what it did to all those poor little scoobies (Subaru 2.5s) in STS..!!

I have autocrossed a bit and am aware of the race tire advantage. And it sounds like that guy in the Escort drives too hard. I am pretty quick, but don't have to beat my car. I focus on staying smooth and working a clean consistant line. In fact I Usually don't shift at all! I have humbled a few racers in my GA16
Can't wait to autocross more next year as I just started late this season!

i'm assuming it was an escort GT with the mazda 1.8l engine. those cars are pretty quick, especially modified ones.

It's an Escort GT with the Mazda engine. It has the usual bolt-on stuff but ALSO has a Quaiffe, 13X9 Keizer wheels w. 225/XX/13 R1s, and he recently got some coil overs (not installed yet). The car is fast, and the driver is really good, too (only a second or so behind one of the fastest DSP Fiats in the country at the Harrisburg Pro Solo). In three years autocrossing, I have never beaten that f%$#ing Escort.

The street tire class is a PAXed class meaning the time listed there is there best time multiplied by their PAX #.

Well i have beaten the Escort and Pat is right...he is fast but he really beats the car. Grinds down to first etc up shift dwon shift doesn't really impress me. All times on on the same course but keep in mind most of these cars run race R compound tires and STS runs on street tires. Subtract about 2 second off street tire times to get R compound times.
