It has a write-up on the new SE-R and the new Z. It also features the 2001 SE as one of the "Eight Gret Rides". They also mention that the SE-R will be available summer, and will be priced around 18K.

The Se-r report is a disapointment. Too much to get into, but the specs on the engine sucks in my mind.
Did you see Carl Monopoli's sr20ve(turbo) NX? Sweet, but bad auto tranni.

Their is nothing wrong with haveing a turbo auto tranny. Especially when its a level 10 piece. While going through the gears the turbo never falls off boost its like a smooth rocket ship.. or so I have heard.

And one of the decent things about an auto, if you are a drager, its consistant. No worries about shift times. And the Level 10 trannys really kick. Oh and staying on boost, heard that is fun to, now to get one of them (Linoel, Doc Lew, or Bubba) to give me a ride

Thats my opinion and I could be wrong

Excuse me?
Turbo and auto tranni's are good only if you have the torque to match the hp's. It will take longer for the car to build up the boost in the gears, but it will hold better than the manual tranni (that's if you don't power shift). Long live manuals!!!

Well I havent heard one complaint out of Linoel or even Doc Lew. They say they love it. They have never complained about launching at all. And if you have a Level 10 tranny with a higher stall torque converter and the quick spool of the t25 I bet it would be almost as quick or maybe equal to a 5 speed off the line.

It was a kind of disappointment that the only difference between the base and the Mark V cars are 10hp, especially when the Celica GT-S puts out 180, the new SVT Cougar 200hp, the New SVT Focus 170hp and (god forbid) the new Integra 200hp. Oh well...That's what the aftermarket's for

Ummm, take a look at the TORQUE figures for all those cars and post again...

Yeah, I know.....Only the SVT Cougar V-6 comes close to the Spec V torque figures. All the other motors are kind of peaky. But hey, at least it seems like a level playing field in some respects. Hopefully, more aftermarket companies will get their collective heads out of the sand and realize that Nissan SE-R's are very capable performers "out of the box", not just Honduhs....
Remember that HP figure is at the flywheel and not the the wheels.
