I just got a shift light from ebay with a 5K RPM pill (it came with it). I put the ground on the metal board that covers under the steering column and hooked up the power to the Cig. Lighter fuse (in the fuse box). Instruction says to connect green wire from shift light to the positive on the coil, which I did.
Ok...when I rev the car past 5K RPMs...it doesn't light up. I know it is semi-connected (since it seems not to be working) because when I turn the car on the light turns on for a couple of seconds then turns off.
Is there something I didn't connect correctly? BTW..I have a Blaster 2 Coil with a MSD 6A ignition setup. Any input is appreciated.

Nevermind...I found out why.
Anyway....I noticed that the shift light comes on at 4,5oo RPMs on my stock tach. I know the stock tachs aren't that accurate, but 500 RPMs seems too much off.
