I've got the BRK6E's on my car and they run great

They were what Nissan originally specified the car with, although they later changed to BRK5E's to stop plug fowling when the cars were continuously being moved a few meters and then shut of again in the docks prior to shipping.

The only difference between them is that the 5E plug is one heat range hotter than the 6E. A hotter plug might be wise if you live in a cold part of the country and only do short journeys, but is a bad idea if you've added a turbo or the like as they are more prone to detonation

For BKR6E plug, what does everyone gap them to? I just ran through the se-r.net archives and got more confused
I have them set at .045". Is this too much? I believe stock calls for a max of .035". What are the consequences of this larger gap?

larger gaps can create a missing problem. mine are at 38. plug gap is relative to your auto. What mods, type of gas, how you drive, etc... Play around with them a bit, but I would say between 35-38. the shop manual lists the BKR6E as the "standard" plug. No point in going to 7's unless your boosting or spraying. I like the PFR6B-11's (colder Platinum plugs) for the hot summers here in FL. I have some mods.

They come gapped. Don't worry about it.

Hey, tell me how the 7 helps when you're spraying!

When your juicing it, the plugs can, and have, lost their tips. Melted right off. The blokes that have spray have destroyed several plugs till they switched to a colder plug. They run in Foridas heat w/ lots of mods (friends) and a 75 shot. One had normal NGK 5's (real nasty mess). he switched to normal 7's. All's is good with the world now (not sure if he's fouling). Oops, there goes the trany case. The other bloke, who moved out of state, switched to Plat 6's. Problem solved. I think the Plat 6's are the best way to go and forget about the Densos. Now if they can only keep their hands off of those bigger jets.
More air... greater heat.

Just a little update. I took out the bkr6e's today and regapped them to 0.035" today. I definitely noticed a difference compared to the 0.045" gap. With the timing at 17 degrees, I feel like a have a whole new car. I'd say that is the way to go if you get the coppers. I personally don't think that the platinum's are worth the cash IMHO.
