Does the rim size make a difference? Also how friendly is the 24.5x8x?? slicks on the transmission and on the wallet?

Most drag wheels will be between 13x7.5 - 13x8.5 . You will size slicks according to estimated power. The 22x8x13 M&H slicks have held 350 hp. Anything past 350hp and you should go with the larger 24.5x8x13 MT or 24.5x8.5x13 M&H Slicks. My tranny is cryo treated and welded, I have an ACT 6 puck w/ Xtreme P/PL, and I launch the car @ 6000 rpm's at the track. It has held up fine so far (knock on wood!), but there is always the possibility of grenading the tranny. Remember, the larger the slick, the lower the mph will be. My 118 mph on slicks would be like 121-123 mph range on street tires or with smaller slicks like the 22x8x13's.
